Rafting down The Tara River

The group departs from Brstanovica, where they board the rafts and head down the Tara River Canyon (at about 12 noon). This is the most exhilarating stretch of rafting down the Tara, an 18 km-long riverbed from Brstanovica to Scepan Polje, where the group can enjoy going over 21 out of 50 rapids on the entire Tara River. During the first part of rafting, the group will pass through powerful rapids such as Pecine, Vjernovica, Brstanovicki, Varda, Borovi and Celije. A short break will be made just in front of the Celije rapid to allows for some photographs and, for the brave, swimming.

Midway down the river, the group will arrive in the Grab Camp surrounded with a beautiful landscape of unspoiled lush oak and beech forests, rolling hills and the winding Tara River. Participants will sample exquisite national cuisine during the hour long lunch break. After the lunch on the attractive Camp Grab terrace just above the river, the group will continue with the rafting trip to Scepan Polje around 3.30 pm.

During the next few kilometres, the group will enjoy the calm waters of the Tara River waters. This time can be used to take more photographs. After this starts the real excitement on the white waters with rapids such as Sipcanica, Cegrlo, Ljutnica, Zanj, Josje, Red Rock and Scepan Polje. During this part of the trip a short break will be made for rest and photographs near the breathtaking waterfall. The tour ends in Scepan Polje around 5.30 pm.

Whether guests are staying on the coast or in the mountains, a bus or cars can be arranged to transfer them to Scepan Polje. The jeeps will take them to Brstanovica, the starting point of the rafting tour. The participants pass trough powerful rapids such as Pecine, Brstanovicki, Vjernovica, Varda, Borovi and Celije. Lunch is organised in the attractive Camp Grab, where one can enjoy home-made specialties.

After lunch, the rafting tour continues to Scepan Polje, passing exciting rapids such as Sipcanica, Ceglo, Ljutnica, Zanj, Josje, Red Rock and Scapan Polje. The tour ends at Scepan Polje. The total length of this trip is 18 km.
